    Thanks but No Thanks...

Chicagoan Penny Pritzker has withdrawn her name from consideration for the position of Commerce Secretary in President Obama's cabinet. We'd like to take this opportunity, in this open forum, to inform President Elect Obama's people that we also do not want to serve as Commerce Secretary. It's not political, and we appreciate the (surely forthcoming) offer but we've simply got too much surrealing to do.Everyone serves our country in their own way. We do it by surrealing.Dan

Pritzker Withdraws Name For Commerce Post

    http://washingtonindependent.com/19509/pritzker-withdraws-na...

Apparently, you can’t believe everything you read in the newspaper. The Washington Post article I linked earlier, which formerly said that President-elect Barack Obama was likely to nominate his presidential campaign’s national finance chair, Penny Pritzker, for secretary of commerce, had been completely rewritten. it now says that Pritzker is unlikely to get the nod, due to “business obstacles.” The story was first reported late yesterday by CNN. The Swamp reports that, according to a “senior Obama official,” Pritzker told the Obama campaign that she is not interested in the post. “Penny Pritzker ultimately has decided she does not want to do the Commerce thing,” the senior official said. Whether it was a trail balloon, or never really on the table, it’s probably a good thing, for the reasons I laid out earlier.
